Mike, I love your blog. T. S. Fay may bewhat the Seminoles of old called a "windwalker." That is a treacherous, seemingly gentle storm that "walks" across the Everglades, gathering strength, goes back into the ocean, and then slams back into land as a destructive hurricane. The Seminoles feared windwalkers. The track of Fay is looking more and more like one. You might want to see if you can interview an older Seminole who might be able to tell how they predicted storms before all our modern equipment. I live in a senior citizens' apartment, and very few are taking this storm seriously. "Oh, it's just a tropical storm." They forget that tropical storms can be more deadly than hurricanes because of the flooding rains. Keep up the good work of trying to get the word out. You and your staff do an excellent job.

Mike, thanks for the JEA info! It's very helpful stuff and hopefully will ease some concern for those that might be affected by any outages. At least it lets them know what JEA's priorities are if and when an outage like this occurs. Keep up the great work!

How many of you out there are parents? I'm one and I can say with out a shadow of a doubt that that this mother could care less about her child .As a mother I don't care if it meant the rest of my life in jail or just my life I would do what ever it took to find my child if she were really taken! And as a mother who has lost a child (not because of neglect)the way she is acting is not how a parent who is concerned about there baby acts you help in anyway you can you give up any information you have regardless of the outcome for you self that should not be a concern.I pray to GOD that they find this poor baby and when they do regardless of how they find her I hope to this women gets all that's coming to her !!!!And for Caylee and her grandparent may God watch over them and help them bring there little baby home!

As the voice of the Jaguars maybe you could have channel 47 upgrade their television station so that we can watch Jacksonville’s team. Last year the station was pretty bad and so far this year it is not any better. It’s like we are watching a high school football game that my Dad recorded on his camcorder. We are watching professional football maybe we could watch it on a professional station. If they are not able to prevent the many “technical difficulties” let the real CBS show the game. Truly a Jaguars fan! John

WHO CARES???? The media must be really in need for headlines these days. I've seen the supidest stories online, on television and in the papers these days. Very few headlines actually affect anybody, so why should we care? Give me stories that mean something!!

I wonder how long this one will last. Neighborhood vandals have already attacked and trashed Boselli's first one. Now you attach a name like Bob Hayes to a neighborhood center, and you might get some respect; but not a white, rich, superior do-gooder like Boselli, and that's exactly how the black community sees him. Obviously, Tony knows nothing of these communities. Even in the 50's, these areas were considered dangerous; and Tallyrand Avenue and Florida Avenue are the most dangerous in Jacksonville, and always have been. Even black people avoid these areas. Also, I doubt that Boselli personally takes part in the so-called renovations; which means he's not physically involved with the construction work itself. I doubt he has even walked through these areas alone! Even a man his size would not know how to defend himself alone in these areas. Murders, muggings, drive-by shootings and stabbings are common place in those areas, as in many other areas that used to peaceful and free of crime 30 years ago. No, Boselli, you can't help these people with your money. They'll just take it and laugh at you; and actually be insulted because you are suggesting they can't take care of their own problems ... which of course they can't or won't beause, actually, they prefer the status quo; it's become a way of life for them, and they are comfortable with it, and they don't want it disturbed. Hey! I'm a retired senior citizen, living on social security without enough money to pay my bills. You want to do some good, send a few thousand my way. Then I can sing your praises, but not for what you're doing now.
